Frequently Asked Questions
How do I measure my door opening?
Measure the width of the opening from edge to edge, horizontally, in three different places: Near the top, near the middle, and near the bottom.
Next, measure the height of the opening on the right side, middle, and left side.
Finally, measure the thickness of your wall, or the depth of your existing jambs. Again, measure near the top, middle, and bottom.
Take the smallest width and height, and the largest thickness. These will be your exterior dimensions and jamb depth. This is the maximum size of unit that will properly fit in your opening.
Can you produce custom doors?
Although we do display finished doors, the option to fully customize your door is in your hands. We offer turn-key custom solid wood doors that can be factory finished and installed. That includes high end hardware, curve options and hand crafted custom stained glass options. Check out our “Our Doors” page for more information.
What is your warranty on doors?
We offer a 3-year warranty on all doors that are factory installed and finished. All other warranties will include a 1-year warranty period on manufacturing defects only. For more information on our warranty policies, check out our “Warranty” page.
What shipping options do you provide?
We provide International Shipping. If you’re ordering within the Ontario province, we ship to you via our own Madawaska Door & Trim truck. Anywhere outside of Ontario is shipped through carrier truck. The door’s estimated time of arrival depends on your shipping address.
What kinds of wood do you work with?
We can provide nearly every species that is not protected under the endangered species act. Some of our more popular wood species include Cedar, Mahogany, Clear Pine, Knotty Pine and Red Oak.
How long does it take you to produce a door once I place an order?
Each door we create is unique. That being said, each door will have its own unique finishing time. All our doors are dependant on the complexity of door design and availability of materials.
